What’s Wrong with Sam Gipp??

https://vimeo.com/353594898

“He first findeth his own brother Simon, and saith unto him, We have found the Messias, which is, being interpreted, the Christ.” ~ John 1:41

“The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things. Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am he.” John 4:25-26

According to the Scriptures, “Christ” means “Messiah”(John 1:41 & 4:25). Is “Jesus Christ” your Christ? If He is not your “Christ”, then how can you call yourself a “Christian”? Seems pretty simple, doesn’t it? If He is one’s “Christ”, then He must also be one’s “Messiah”!

“Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.” ~ 1John 2:22  [compare with John 1:41, above ~ “Christ” = “Messiah”]

Why does Sam Gipp sound like a heretic?

Sam GippNot only a liberal “neo-evangelical”, like John Hagee, but even Sam Gipp, a well-known, “Independent Baptist”, has succumbed to the silliness of Scofield’s Zionism. Gipp is known as a “Defender of the King James Bible”… Unfortunately, he misrepresents many other “KJV-independent Baptists” (like ourselves) when it comes to Dispensational-Zionism. The following is a direct quote from Sam Gipp, preached in a sermon at the Treasure Valley Baptist Church in Meridian, Idaho (August 2013). Here is what he said:

“…You know what I never call Jesus Christ? I never call Him ‘my Messiah’. Unless you’re a Jew, He’s not your Messiah. Are you from Gentile stock? We were never promised ‘a Messiah’…”

It needs to be pointed out here, that although Sam Gipp is known for his stance on the KJV, he uses the old “Scofield-Reference-KJV-Bible” (see his own YouTube video, as proof).  Mr. Gipp, himself, serves as a living demonstration to the powerful influence that even the built-in NOTES in one’s Bible can have. Pastor Furse’s book explains in detail how the “Scofield doctrine” came about.

PLEASE NOTE: Pastor Furse privately contacted Sam Gipp (via email) more than once, to ask if he meant what he said, or if he would like to retract his statement concerning Jesus, as his Messiah. To date, he has not.  Instead, Mr. Gipp insulted Matt Furse with name calling, and arrogant innuendoes. (Pastor Furse still has the emails to prove this.) After the M2Z DVD came out, Mr. Gipp made a YouTube video, and in it he continues to call names and make insults against those who made the documentary. He refers to Matt Furse as the “muppet pastor”, as if Pastor Furse were someone’s puppet.

The King James Bible is Always Right.  But sadly, even those who endorse It are capable of gross error.

The Bible teaches that “Christ” = “Messiah” (John 1:41)  False doctrine needs to be exposed, wherever it is found. Wrong is wrong. God’s people must THINK for themselves, using His Word as their final authority. (Acts 17:11)

For Further Bible study: Compare Paul’s “Gentile” connection to the “Lost Tribes” in Romans 9:25-26 with Hosea 2:23 & 1:10. Did Paul including “Gentiles” in his definition of the lost tribes of Israel???

[NOTE— In his original sermon, Gipp ridiculed two other Baptist preachers from the pulpit, with whom he happened to disagree… Unfortunately for him, he only buried himself even deeper— “Whoso diggeth a pit shall fall therein: and he that rolleth a stone, it will return upon him.” – Proverbs 26:27]

But, now, Gipp has gotten even worse!

In May of 2017, Sam Gipp was preaching at the Northside Baptist Church in Elgin, Illinois— there, he infers that “Jesus” was NOT the correct name that Joseph & Mary were to give to Christ! He went on to say that “Jesus” is NOT the name that the saved will refer to Him, at His coming!

Apparently, Mr. Gipp forgot about such verses as—

“Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily. But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost. And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us. Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife: And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.” (Matthew 1:19-25)

“And when eight days were accomplished for the circumcising of the child, his name was called JESUS, which was so named of the angel before he was conceived in the womb.” (Luke 2:21)

“Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” (Philippians 2:9-11)

WHERE did Sam Gipp get the following doctrine???  “PLAN B”???  Is this fictional “story” not ADDING to the Bible??? (See below, from a sermon in May 2017)

In the video below (the full sermon- preached at Northside Baptist Church/Elgin, Ill), at around minute 48, Sam Gipp suggests that those who believe in “replacement theology” could lose their salvation! He went on to suggest that Israel has never committed Abortion or Sodomy…apparently, he hasn’t read Who is Israel? (see: chapter 5)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Smx3e3prMXE

At about 1:13 – 1:16 into the (above) video, Gipp LAMELY explains his definition of “Messiah” vs. “Christ”… Sam Gipp says that the word “Messiah” means “deliverer” … but the Bible plainly says—

John 1:41 “He first findeth his own brother Simon, and saith unto him, We have found the Messias, which is, being interpreted, the Christ.”  (in other words, “Messiah” = “Christ”)

John 4:25 “The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things.”

At the same church, in Elgin, Ill, IFB Author William Grady, spoke for 50 minutes (promoting his new book, about Israel)… During his 50 minute “book-promoting-sermon”, he made this statement— “It doesn’t even matter whether the Jews WANT Him to save them, …He’s going to do it, anyway…”

(This statement does NOT reflect what Romans 9-11 teaches!)

Listen for yourself…

What’s WRONG with the IFB churches who tolerate this sort of nonsense???

  1. You misrepresent Sam. Our Jesus will be called Emmanuel at his coming. He is our Saviour, not our Messiah. You are a nit-picking hypocrite.

    • How did we misrepresent Sam Gipp? We quoted him (and show him) in his own words! Unfortunately, Gipp is too proud to admit the foolishness of his unwise statements, and chooses rather to defend his words.

    • Please define Messiah for me. I would like to know what distinguishes Jesus from being the Savior vs Messiah.

      • There is no such word, “Savior” in the King James Bible(unless you have a sloppy copy)… However, Jesus is both Saviour & Christ. (See: Luke 2:11; John 4:42; Acts 5:31; Acts 13:23; Eph 5:23; Php 3:20; 1Tim 1:1; 2Tim 1:10; Tit 1:4; Tit 2:13; Tit 3:6; 2Pet 1:1; 2Pet 1:11; 2Pet 2:20; 2Pet 3:2; 2Pet 3:18; 1John 4:14) …But, this does NOT mean that “Saviour” and “Christ” have the same meaning (they are the same Person, but their meanings aren’t exactly the same)… “Christ” means “Messiah” (See: John 1:41 “…We have found the Messias, which is, being interpreted, the Christ.” & John 4:25 “The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things.”) Messiah means “the Anointed One”(Psalm 2:2), Who was prophesied in the Old Testament. “Saviour” means One Who can save/preserve the World. (See: 1John 4:14 And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world.”) Sam Gipp said that “Jesus Christ is NOT his Messiah”— that’s like saying— “Jesus Messiah is NOT my Messiah”. The Christ(Messiah) is MY Lord Jesus Christ, and He is the Saviour of those who believe– for both Jew & Gentile— AND— He is the Christ(Messiah) for BOTH Jew & Gentile! Notice the constant reference to Christ, in almost every salutation in Paul’s epistles? These churches were predominantly made up of saved Gentiles—yet, Paul included Jesus as being their Christ, too. Jesus is Christ(Messiah) to ALL the saints–not just the “Jewish saints”. (See: Romans 1; 1Cor 1; 2Cor 1; etc, etc)

    • David what does Emmanuel mean but “God with us” [in the flesh] as He was!/?
Matthew 1:23 King James Version (KJV)

23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

*David show me anyplace in Bible where He was called Emmanuel. No His very name, JESUS is interpreted is God with us as He is God, in the flesh.

    • Who or what is a “Gipp-ite”?? = Someone who calls names (such as “Farse”) when actual doctrine & facts cannot be argued or defended.

      • HAHA, I don’t know Mr. Gipp ,but you are correct, I should not poke fun at your name.
Seriously though, you have your glasses all fogged up with this man, its a bit weird. Just sayin…..

        Regards.

        • I’m not saying that he’s wrong about everything, but his tactics in rebuttal of a theological argument, are “childish”, to say the least. (Which helps to discredit his otherwise positive attributes).

Thank you for your comments, our issues with Sam Gipp have become outdated, and soon, it may be time remove these negative posts about him from our webpage.

  2. Your argument with Sam Gipp is childish and unbecoming anyone professing to be a Christian. Take the high road and ignore him, lest people think you the idiot instead of him. This is the danger of arguing with someone you think mentally deficient, people watching can’t tell the difference.

Allow me to remove any doubt you may be harboring: I knew nothing of you before reading this page but now hold you in low esteem. That’s what uncharitable behavior toward a Christian brother will get you.

    • Thank you… you obviously hold Sam Gipp in higher esteem, than I do. However, others (who are more objective than you) need to know that NOT ALL of the “King James Bible-thumpers” are of Sam Gipp’s stripe… There are descent, honest, THINKING people out there, who need to know that.

  3. I hated it the most when he said if you speak bad against the Jews you might lose your salvation, and then he said “well don’t say that and then said well you might” wicked heretic

  4. Please send to me Sam Gipps’s email address. I can’t find it on the Internet. I want to discuss one of his evangelization videos.
    Thanks,
    -Chad

    • For what it’s worth, when I first ‘discovered’ rightly dividing (when I finally decided to read my KJB from Gen to Rev on my own), Sam Gipp ‘broke fellowship’ with me. He said if I wasn’t going to teach the Great Commission, then he didn’t want my money. I wonder how he and his wife are doing – he ain’t no young chicken these days!

  5. Reading the interactions on this site it saddens me that Christians cannot agree to disagree agreeably. We definitely should not be name calling. Is it any wonder brethren that the world can rightly criticize the church. Remember. The servant of the Lord must be gentle, able to teach. I also recognize that we should contend for the faith but let us do it in a spirit of love. God bless . An. Ardent lover of the only bible worth reading. colintjohn46@ gmail.com. aussie 77 yr old!
